The Arcigay Modena community has received a wave of threats and insults online in recent days. The organizers of Modena Pride have decided to make public the list of comments received, to launch a clear message: "Pride will take place, and precisely what has happened shows why it is still necessary". Modena Pride will take place on June 20, 2026, at 14:30, at the former Macello di Modena. The departure of the city parade is scheduled for 16:30. The organizers define the day as "a day of vindication, visibility and participation, but which this year arrives after days marked by a heavy wave of online hate". "These are just some of the comments we receive when we talk about Pride", writes the coordination of the event, showing dozens of screens collected under their own social media content. Among the published messages, there are phrases like "people who do not serve and should be eliminated", "they will become extinct like dinosaurs", "shameful", "depraved", as well as calls for physical violence and explicit threats. For the organizers, it is not a matter of simple opinions, but of "attacks". "This shows concretely how online hate is never confined online, but is translated daily into exclusion, fear, violence and isolation", say the organizers. Modena Pride is a day of vindication, visibility and participation, which this year arrives after days marked by a heavy wave of online hate.
